Luna
Luna is an Alaskan Malamute. in 2013 she was collected by the dog warden after being found straying. I looked after her in kennels for 3 weeks before she was adopted. Another 3 weeks later and she was returned for being "a handful" she came home with me the same day. My first dog and a learning curve to say the least!
We believe that a lack of socialisation caused her reactivity. She is a frustrated greeter and barks and lunges at the sight of another dog. After careful introductions she is normally great but she can get in to trouble if not managed properly. We work hard with Luna to improve her reactivity and she has improved to the point where she accepted a second dog (Zorro) into our family.
Luna is a real foodie and absolutely fantastic with children and people of all ages, for this reason she often accompanies me to home checks so that we can see how families and children cope with a large dog in the home.
Zorro
Zorro is a 9 year old Woolly Alaskan Malamute, he joined our family from 8 below Sled dog rescue in July 2016.
We traveled over 200 miles to meet him in Yorkshire and Luna made the decision for us that he would be a good addition to the family. We drove home with him the very same day and he's been a part of the family ever since.
He can best be described as an absolute goofball, he follows Luna's lead when out and about and can often be found belly up sprawled out across the floor with his legs in the air when at home. He came to us with some guarding issues but these have greatly improved and he's generally an all round people lover.
